The online catering platform will be using the investment to boost quality hires, website design, marketing efforts and product development
Shortly after receiving its first round of seed funding from GEPI’s entrepreneurship programme ANGIN, Indonesia-based online catering startup Berry Kitchen has today announcing securing an undisclosed sum from East Ventures.
For background, Berry Kitchen is an end-to-end food ordering platform. Not only does it allow users to order lunch and bento boxes through the web, it also handles supplier management, kitchen flow, food packaging and last mile delivery.
In an official statement, Cynthia Tenggara, CEO, Berry Kitchen, said that the funds will be used to boost quality hires, website design, marketing efforts and product development. It intends to serve 2,000 lunch and bento boxes within the next six months. At the moment, the 40-employee strong team serves 600 lunch and bento boxes daily.
East Ventures has been more than active in Southeast Asia, especially in Indonesia. In the last six months, the venture capital firm has invested in a number of Indonesia-based startups, including Bilna, Sirclo and Ralali.com.
