Food a big theme this year
Earlier last week, founding partner of 500 Startups Dave McClure shared that he is particularly very excited about food tech. The recent acquisition of FoodSpotting, one of the pioneers in the food photo sharing vertical, also signals that we are just starting to see the consolidation of the various players in the food tech space. This is also reinforced by the various local partnerships here in Singapore. This is definitely a very exciting time to be in the food tech space. Recognizing the opportunities, Neoteny Labs alongside QuestVC were fast to get onto the bandwagon with their US$500,000 investment into Burpple back in December.
