Foodpanda Malaysia wants to become a household name in food delivery, and is seeking partnerships with established restaurants and food service companies in its aim to grow its menu and expand its reach. In Malaysia, Foodpanda has announced two new partnerships, as well as opening its service in two new locations.
The Rocket Internet startup has launched in Ipoh and Malacca, in addition to its existing services in the Klang Valley and Penang. Foodpanda also now offers ordering service from two new restaurants: Papa John’s and RasaMas.
American pizza chain Papa John’s has 4,000 restaurants in 32 countries, including 20 restaurants in Malaysia, and the company has already been collaborating with Foodpanda in other countries. Meanwhile, local rotisserie chain RasaMas has 20 outlets in Malaysia, offering a fast casual type of dining experience.

Foodpanda has recently signed deals with Chatime and Starbucks in Malaysia, offering locals the opportunity to satisfy their bubble tea and caffeine fix at the comfort of their own home or office. In Malaysia, Foodpanda is the more popular food delivery aggregator, compared with Room Service Deliveries, although single-restaurant services like Domino’s Pizza and Pizza Hut are more popular here, at least according to statistics from Alexa.
Foodpanda is aggressively expanding in the region, armed with a US$20 million funding from a group of investors that includes Investment AB Kinnevik and Phenomen Ventures. The service is active in at least 27 countries in an industry that is not likely to run out of customers, given Asians’ love for food and convenience. Foodpanda Malaysia’s mobile app is available for Android and iOS as a free download.
