Foodpanda is now available in 27 countries and the mobile app is gaining ground as #1 in eight countries and with a quarter million downloads so far.
Mobile users are going food crazy, with all the apps related to dining reservations, delivery and food reviews. Rocket Internet’s Foodpanda is no stranger to success, having recently topped app marketplaces in eight markets and being a top contender in 20 countries worldwide, all after just 11 weeks from launch.
This comes from figures cited by appanie.com, an app analytics service that tracks usage, engagement and sales across platforms. The app’s premise is quite straightforward: indicate your ZIP code and you get a list of nearby restaurants and the menus for these member establishments. You can then place your order from the smartphone app itself, and you get a message confirming your order and the expected time of delivery.
Launching its mobile app just a few weeks back, Foodpanda has actually rolled out to additional countries in the past few weeks, which include Saudi Arabia, Ukraine and Romaina. Rocket Internet has also rebranded its Russian Foodnation brand into Foodpanda, in order for the app to run under one single brand.
