Korean dating app Between and online dining guide OpenRice Singapore are now holding a contest to find the city-state’s best foodie couple. Are you game?
When in love, eat. That’s what OpenRice Singapore, an online dining guide, and Between, a Korea-based relationship app, are saying with their new partnership to bring romance to the city-state.
The contest, which will run till January 2014, will see the two firms hold three food tasting sessions with 12 shortlisted couples. These pairs will then review selected restaurants in the country, and the best will win a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner in February 2014.
In addition, Between will also be searching for one couple who will be elected as “Between’s Favourite Couple” through a voting system on social networks. The two can also look forward to a special dinner on Valentine’s Day.
All couples have to do is to download the Between and OpenRice Singapore apps off their smartphones, head over Between’s official page, and follow the instructions available on the Event Box feature.
Kenett Wong, Country Manager, OpenRice Singapore said, “OpenRice is a platform for people to create meaningful food memories across Asia and through our partnership with Between in Singapore, we hope to engage couples who are looking to discover new dining places for their next date.”
Wong added that they do have existing couples and spouses who would team up to pen such reviews on the platform.

Joash Wee, General Manager for Southeast Asia, Between, also commented that strategic partners like OpenRice can help bring couples closer to one another. He added, “Food is a good place to start.”
At the moment, Between has over 4.6 million downloads globally, and is seeing strong organic growth in Southeast Asia. This is especially so in countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
The first food tasting session will happen on 17th November, 2013 and will see 6 couples joining Between and OpenRice to try out classic Italian and Peruvian restaurant, Supply & Demand.
